The people behind Newt

Before you jump down our throats because something doesn't work, or doesn't work the way you want it to work, please read this page. That way, at least you can blame the correct person ;)

Well, first off, there's James Greenfield. The initial concept for Newt began with him. Newt is the result of paying too little attention in a certain 3rd year Applied Mathematics course. Fortunately, he didn't suffer too badly as a result of this. No doubt this was primarily due to the fact that the distraction was the thought of how cool it would be to actually turn some of this theory into practice.

Then we have Clare Johnson. She supported the development phase, acting both as a sounding board, and a beta tester. Clare then took up the task of producing a useable help file and suitable user friendly documentation (since everyone knows that programmers can't write anything user friendly except under extreme duress). The result of this effort is quite clear, and the benefits to you, the user, will hopefully be apparent.

We also had the benefit of a very talented beta testing team. As mentioned, this included Clare, but also extended to the likes of Mark Horner, Rory Adams, Andrew van der Spuy, Sahal Yacoob, James Taylor and Nicky Burgoyne.

Graphics, icons and design suggestions were provided very willingly by Andrew van der Spuy and Luke Smith.

And finally, other odds and ends were contributed by Marc Daya and some of the lecturers at the Maths Department at the University of Cape Town, namely Christopher Gilmour and Ingrid Rewitzky.
